Communication Solutions TWO DAY WEEKEND INTENSIVE Information:

THIS IS A FULL WEEKEND INTENSIVE, JANUARY 12 AND 13 FROM 9 AM TO 5 PM EACH DAY.

It may sound like a simple solution yet we really believe that learning to resolve conflicts through healthy communication breaks the cycle of violence and creates a safer community.

RPCP is happy to introduce you to Cindy Bigbie, Ph.D. who will facilitate the Communication Solution Weekend Intensive, her work based on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) developed by Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D.

NVC guides us in reframing how we express ourselves and hear others.  Instead of habitual, automatic reactions, our words become conscious responses based firmly on awareness of what we are perceiving, feeling, and wanting.  We are led to express ourselves with honesty and clarity, while simultaneously paying others respectful and empathic attention.

This Intensive is designed for participants to learn and practice the basic components and processes of NVC.

During our time together will cover:

●         An Overview of NVC
●         Understanding Needs vs. Strategies
●         Understanding and Giving Empathy
●         Breaking Habits of Blame and Judgments
●         Understanding Requests vs. Demands
●         Why WAIT (when triggered) and what to do during the              WAIT time - Self Empathy
●         Transforming Our Image of "The Enemy"
●         Putting All the Components Together

SPECIAL BONUS:

Along with the weekend training, there will be four weekly call-in practice sessions in the month immediately following the training.  Participants will also receive a one-on-one coaching session with Cindy in order to deepen their knowledge and skills of NVC.

Recommended text for the class is Nonviolent Communication - A Language of Life by Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D.

Cindy Bigbie, has a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Design and extensive experience in the field of program evaluation.  Her years of research and evaluation in social services and educational institutions provide an upfront, in-depth understanding of the need for instruction related to emotional intelligence in all our current systems. As a result, she has been on a personal mission to teach herself and others, Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication.  She has extensive training in the NVC process, including an ongoing immersion training on using NVC in mediation.  Her dream is to see this process taught to all people in order to stop the cycle of violence found in our homes, communities and our organizations.
